Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, and muscles), as well as the effects these disorders can have on the nervous system and general health. They have a specialist interest in neck and back pain, but when they assess patients, they take their entire physical, emotional and social well being into account (British Chiropractic Association)

Your initial consultation will be divided into a history taking, examination, report of findings and if appropriate, treatment and exercises. The most important part of the session is for you to have a clear idea of what the problem is and how I can help. The most common complaints that new patients come to me with are:

- Low back pain
- Neck pain
- Headaches
- Sports injuries
- Shoulder pain
- General stress and tension
- Foot pain
- General aching joints

As a primary heathcare practitioner you do not need to consult your GP before attending an appointment. If scans or onward referral is necessary this can be discussed during the consultation. During the report of findings you will also have the number of follow up sessions recommended. The average patient has between 3-6 sessions for their presenting complaint.

I am a born and bred Bristolian who has now been involved in the health and wellness industry for over 25 years (terrifying). It all started with working as a fitness instructor in a local gym (Graftons in the Pithay for those that can remember) which evolved into teaching classes and personal training.

This was all during my first degree in Sport and Exercise Science at The University of Bath. Once I graduated I took the opportunity to travel for a year before embarking on a four year Masters of Chiropractic in Bournemouth.

On returning to Bristol in 2008, I started working as a Chiropractor for The Medical, a clinic based at Christmas steps right in the centre of Bristol. Not long after, I was invited to become practice manager, which soon evolved into becoming a shareholder. Alongside my partners we grew the business, adding clinics and services whilst I was still treating as a Chiropractor part time.

I then decided to go back to my teaching roots and embarked on a yoga teacher training course at Yogasara in Bristol. This has led to over 500 hours of study, training in India and a complete change in outlook and priorities.

Through these big changes I decided that I no longer wanted to focus on running a large company with my partners and that wanted to simplify and be in control of how I practise. So I left The Medical at the start of 2020 and now offer Chiropractic from my lovely room in The Coach House, a business centre in Bristol city centre.

I now split my time between Chiropractic, teaching yoga and breathwork classes to groups, private and 1-1, offering retreats and workshops, teaching anatomy on the Yogasara teacher training programme and being a director of The Bristol Yoga Roots Project a social enterprise started with a group of my fellow yogis.

I am a passionate activist for protecting our planet and climate destruction. I currently live in Redland with my partner Tom and blind cat Socks and escape to the countryside in my campervan Dennis whenever possible.
