I am a born and bred Bristolian who has now been involved in the health and wellness industry for over 25 years (terrifying). It all started with working as a fitness instructor in a local gym (Graftons in the Pithay for those that can remember) which evolved into teaching classes and personal training.
This was all during my first degree in Sport and Exercise Science at The University of Bath. Once I graduated I took the opportunity to travel for a year before embarking on a four year Masters of Chiropractic in Bournemouth.
On returning to Bristol in 2008, I started working as a Chiropractor for The Medical, a clinic based at Christmas steps right in the centre of Bristol. Not long after, I was invited to become practice manager, which soon evolved into becoming a shareholder. Alongside my partners we grew the business, adding clinics and services whilst I was still treating as a Chiropractor part time.
I then decided to go back to my teaching roots and embarked on a yoga teacher training course at Yogasara in Bristol. This has led to over 500 hours of study, training in India and a complete change in outlook and priorities.
Through these big changes I decided that I no longer wanted to focus on running a large company with my partners and that wanted to simplify and be in control of how I practise. So I left The Medical at the start of 2020 and now offer Chiropractic from my lovely room on Portland Square in St Paul’s.
I now split my time between Chiropractic, teaching yoga, offering retreats and workshops, teaching anatomy on the Yogasara teacher training programme and volunteering with St Peter’s hospice and other worthwhile causes.
I am a passionate activist for protecting our planet and climate destruction. I currently live in Redland with my partner Tom and blind cat Socks and escape to the countryside in my campervan Dennis whenever possible.
